Lining la busta

I just ran across this cute idea- I love the idea of using photos for an envelope liner! It’s a nice little touch. Maybe not for formal wedding invitations, but save the dates (using engagement photos) and wedding thank you cards (photos from the wedding) would be super cute. Even birthday party invitations using a photo(s) of the guest of honor. You could simply take the photo, or create a collage of photos, to a copy center (like Kinko’s) and print off several 8x10’s to cut and use for the envelope liner. I’ve only done DIY envelope liners once, for my sister’s high school graduation, and it got a little tedious, but they looked really good and they were really pretty when you opened them! It’s an extra step, but sometimes those details are so worth it. Just a fun touch if you have the time : )

Wondering what the heck "Busta" is all about? That is how you say "invitation" in Italian! I'm trying to learn Italian and like to look up random words. When I saw "busta", I had to use it ; )

Made with love.

I love to cook. So for me, any event is an excuse to bake something fun. Holidays are always so fun because you can there are so many ideas out there. Naturally, Valentine’s Day and sweets just seem to go hand in hand. Check out the below ideas (click on the name to take you to the recipe)- all are fairly easy with super cute results!

If baking isn’t your thing, give these marshmallows a try and add some love to your hot chocolate. All you need are regular/large size marshmallows and a (very tiny) heart shaped cookie cutter coated with cooking spray. Cut marshmallows in half, press the cookie cutter into the center of each one...and voila!

If food just isn’t your thing, check out ‘Delightfully Engaged’ for some other, non-foodie, ideas to show your Valentine, as they put it, “I freaking love you!” : )

Happy Valentine's Day lovebirds!

DIY Wreaths

Something about the holidays makes me want to get extra crafty. The fact that I love Christmas and decorating for Christmas probably has a lot to do with that : ) I saw these cute, and seemingly easy and budget friendly, DIY wreaths at GoodHousekeeping.com and I think I am going to have to give (one of them) a try!
Eco-Friendly Christmas Wreath Projects
My husband and I love wine, and have lots of corks with no purpose, so I may try the "Pop Out the Cork" wreath to hang in our kitchen. I also really like the "Mixed Greens", "White Christmas", and "Christmas Ball" wreaths!! The front door will need one, too, of course! ;) If I get around to trying one (or 2...) out, I'll be sure to post a picture.

Silhouettes

One day, oh one day, I will get around to making silhouettes. I think they will be precious for a baby nursery! You can start with one of each parent and then once baby arrives add his or her's. And in our family, we may be the crazies that also add the dog like the second to last picture ♥
